There's frequent moments where the game just "bugs out". But without the meat on the bones dialogue wise, it's really hard to care. I want to get invested into the characters, and some have really appealing base personalities. I'm not motivated to talk to them if I get the same dialogue every time for days on end. But then if you're going to step up to Stardew, you need alot more dialogue from your characters. Okay, you're clearly inspired by Stardew, that's all fine. Like, why wouldn't the rangers want extra materials for reserve? Why wouldn't the bartenders want ingredients for their brew? Why wouldn't the blacksmiths want ore? It makes no sense and it really slows down the game. Gold feels artificially limited because of this. I can't sell ore, I can't sell materials, I can't sell potions to people who want them directly. Well, I can't sell anything except potions. I feel like that's where some potions would be given, but I still don't have that at all. And I still, STILL haven't gotten a single job on the bulletin board. I'm meant to be a "Chemist" helping people and making money selling potions I've made, and that's a compelling narrative idea.īut it feels like I've only just barely even been allowed to do that. I get that it's important to get the players settled into the game, but I feel like events are being stretched far too much across days. It leads to entire days where you do the new introduced mechanic in about 1-2 ingame hours (earning about 150g or such) and spend the rest of the day grinding away at rock and wood because you literally can't earn money in any other way except the early morning mechanic mission.Īnd only on about day 3 did the clinic get into gear. Why are fundamental things that invest players being introduced so slowly? Each day feels like an introduction a mechanic, but that's really too slow for a game like this. I'm about Day 7 or 8, and finally I'm able to SELL MY POTIONS.
